Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer [1969-2010]. He was born in London and left school at the age of 16 for an apprenticeship in fashion. McQueen proceeded to work at various locations until 1994 and eventually completed a Masters degree in Fashion Design. Soon after his graduation he became one of the most famous and respected international fashion designers in the world. His impressive collections include footwear, handbags, ties, scarves, and other accessories, and men’s and women’s clothing.
McQueen’s accomplishments included being one of the youngest designers to achieve the title “British Designer of the Year”, which he won four times between 1996 and 2003. McQueen was also known for his dramatic catwalk shows, where he combined new technology and innovative ideas to surprise and shock his audience.
By the end of 2007, Alexander McQueen had boutiques in London, New York, Los Angeles, Milan, and Las Vegas. Celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Penélope Cruz, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Rihanna have frequently been spotted wearing Alexander McQueen clothing to events.
